6 things to Stop Doing To Achieve Your Goal

If you've had a goal and keep finding yourself off course and failing to achieve it then stopping one of the 6 things you should stop doing might help.

When I took a goal I had on a Landscaping Your Life (LYL) walk recently I identified 16 reasons why we fail to achieve our goals, that whilst I might have known them logically, didn't land until I'd seen the pattern mirrored back at me from nature (see below for a summary, this video for the metaphorical insight that generated these insights, and this post for a more detailed written logical exploration).

What I was reminded of during the walk was about my Prescription for wellbeing template that is, is it's not always about what we need to start doing, but instead more about what we need to stop doing.

That is, what are you doing that is either diverting or draining your time or physical, emotional, or mental energy so you have nothing left for the goal in hand?

As you can see below, for the goal in question, one of the things the LYL walk was inviting me to consider was how am I distracting or diverting myself away from the task in hand (the tunnel image used above was one such distraction) ie I needed to keep focused on the end goal which I had a very clear path ahead to get me to.

What do you need to stop doing that may help you to achieve your goal more easily?

This video from the archives perhaps demonstrates very quickly why we should pay attention and stop doing what we know isn't helping (the laughter is a little loud at the start so you may went to turn the sound down)
