If you're struggling with your confidence I thought I'd share this poem for world poetry day - see what you think and do let me know what insight you get from it.

Hey confidence, where have you gone
I need you now
Don't turn way
Don't run in the opposite direction just when I need you

Hey you, I'm here
I know I'm needed
Don't ignore me
Don't look in the opposite direction to where you know I'll be found

But confidence, I can't see you
Can't hear, nor feel you
Where are you?

Hey you, I won't be found where you're looking
I'm not brought into reality if you focus on my lack
Certainly not by thoughts of shadowy oppressive stifling places

But confidence they're what comes to mind when you're not here
If you were here you'd banish those dark places

Hey you, it's the images of those dark places that push me away
I'm here just beyond your current imaginings

You're here?

Yes here in every moment
You just need to change your focus

Change my focus where?

To the imaginings that inspire
To places that bring you awe, and
To the people you love

Oh confidence I can feel you
Is that really all I need to do

I can only promise that by focusing on those inspiring places
You will be able to see, feel, and hear me
